The area of the shaded region would be given by the area of the larger circle - the area of the smaller circle:

Area of a circle = πr^2
Area of smaller circle = π*3^2 = 9π
Area of larger circle = π*10^2 = 100π

Area of shaded region = 100π - 9π
= 91π
Given that π is approximately equal to 3.14, the area of the shaded region would be approximately equal to 285.74 cm^2
