Solution:

we are given that

The difference of two numbers is equal to 0.6.

Let the numbers  be x and y so we can write

[tex]x-y=0.6......(i)[/tex]

Their quotient is also 0.6.

so we can write

[tex]\frac{x}{y} =0.6.....(ii)[/tex]

Now solve these two equations together we get

[tex]0.6y-y=0.6......(i)[/tex]

[tex]-0.4y=0.6 [/tex]

[tex]y=-3/2=-1.5 [/tex]

[tex]x =0.6+y[/tex]

[tex]x =0.6-1.5=-0.9[/tex]

Hence the numbers are -1.5 and -0.9
