Dobzhansky and Mayr's both explain the significance of population variation over and above the individual variation. Darwin too had proposed that hereditary variation occurring within the population affect the individuals too. The hereditary variation in population can be postulated as a reason result of environmental factors which is the basis of explanation of variation of both Darwins theory and the Dobzhansky and Mayr's theory.
