What is the adaptive advantage of living in the small intestine?

I would say that the advantage of living in the small intestine of an animal is that the food and nutrition is already harvested for you to eat as food travels through the big intestine nutrient goes into the small intestine and junk goes into waste and if you live in the small intestine you get the good nutrition.
