Using it's formula, it is found that the surface area of the square pyramid is of 429 cm².

Surface area:

The surface area of a square pyramid of base a and slant height l is given by:

[tex]A = a^2 + 2al[/tex]

In this problem, the parameters are:

  • Base 11 cm, hence [tex]a = 11[/tex].
  • Slant height of 14 cm, hence [texl = 14[/tex].

Then:

[tex]A = a^2 + 2al = 11^2 + 2(11)(14) = 429[/tex]

The surface area of the square pyramid is of 429 cm².
