In some species there is a very small interphase, or interkinesis before the cell enters in the the process of meiosis II.

The two daughter cells that are produced after meiosis I go though the process of meiosis II. During the process of meiosis II the two sister chromatids which lies in daughter cells separate, resulting in formation of four haploid daughter cells. This process is similar to mitosis.
