We can solve this with a one-step unit conversion. 1 hour contains 60 minutes, and each minute contains 60 seconds, so 1 hour contains 3600 seconds.

300,000 km/s x (3600 sec/1 hour) = 1,080,000,000 km/hr 
1.08 x 10^9 km/hr
