Napoleon Bonaparte's relationship with Great Britain was filled with tension and war due the constant threat of invation. There were brief periods of peace during an uneasy truce but as depicted in the literature and art of the time the fear or invasion lead the public to have a strong fear and hate for France and Napoleon.
