Since the number in the ones place is the same for both numbers (7), we can go ahead and look at the decimal places. 

Lets take a look at the decimal places:
7.09 has a zero in the tenths place.
7.2 has a 2 in the tenths place.

2 is greater than 0 so, in this case 7.2 is greater than 7.09.
