If the sales tax in Maple Town is 9.5%, how much would an ice cream of $4.25 cost with the tax added? Please explain.

To find the sales tax, you need to find 9.5% of 4.25

4.25*.095 = .40375

Now we need to add the sales tax to the price.

4.25 +
.40375 = 4.65375
Because dollars one have 2 decimal points we should round this to 4.65
