The value of a function is the value the function assumes for a given argument

The value of x, when j(x) = -5 is x = 15

Reason:

The given function is presented as follows;

[tex]j(x) = -\dfrac{4}{5} \cdot x + 7[/tex]

j(x) = -5

We get;

[tex]-5 = -\dfrac{4}{5} \cdot x + 7[/tex]

[tex]-5 - 7= -12 =-\dfrac{4}{5} \cdot x[/tex]

[tex]\dfrac{4}{5} \cdot x = 12[/tex]

4·x = 12 × 5 = 60

[tex]x = \dfrac{60}{4} = 15[/tex]

The value of x = 15
