You can multiply both the denominator and the numerator by the same number to get an equivalent fracrion. When you do so, the simplified decimal will be the same. So 188/11 is 17.09 with the .09 repeating. 
188x2/11x2=376/22=17.09 repeating. You can do this with any number.
