So the formula for finding the area of a cylinder is [tex]2 \pi r^{2}+2 \pi rh [/tex] . r=radius. If we put the numbers into the equation it is [tex]2 \pi 6^{2}+2 \pi 6(14)[/tex] We get 6 as the radius because half of 12 is 6. 6 squared is 36 and 6*14= 84. So our equation is now [tex]2 \pi36+2 \pi84[/tex]. 2*pi=6.28318530718 but let's round that to 6.283. So now our equation is much simpler 6.283(36)+6.283(84). Just multiply them. 226.188+527.772= 753.96 is your final answer.
