The city of Berlin, which was located deep inside the Soviet zone of the postwar divided Germany, was itself divided into four zones.
During the war, Berlin had to be separated into a couple of areas due to the wartime being present at the moment. However, many years after the war, Berlin was reunited into a single city that is the capital of Germany today.
