State the vertical asymptote of the rational function.
f(x) =(x-3)(x+4)/x^2-1

to find the vertical asymptote we set x^2 - 1 = 0 since we cannot divide by 0
x^2 - 1 = 0
x^2 = 1
x = +/- 1 this means that there is a vertical asymptote at x = 1 and x = -1.
