giving the vector

V=-10i + 16j

then

the magnitude of the vector is giving by the hypotenuse

then

[tex]Mag=\sqrt{16^2+10^2}[/tex][tex]Mag=2\sqrt{89}=18.867[/tex]

the direction angle is giving by

[tex]tan(\theta)=\frac{Opp}{Adj}[/tex][tex]tan(\theta)=\frac{16}{10}[/tex][tex]\theta=arctan(1.6)[/tex][tex]\theta=arctan(1.6)=57.99\degree[/tex]

rounded to one decimal place

then the direction is 58.0
