if 4 miles is 30 minutes, then (2) 4 mile runs will be 60 minutes. 1/2 of 4 miles is 2 miles, so 1/2 of 30 minutes will be 15 minutes. Now this becomes 60 minutes plus 15 minutes which gives the total of 75 minutes to take Karen to run 10 miles.
