Answer:

You multiply length and width to get the area of a rectangle. Becuase the rectangle is divided into three parts you must find the area of all three parts and then combine them all to get the area for the entire rectangle.

I'm pretty sure a=length.

Formula for the area of a rectangle or square: A = l×w
