Can a triangle have sides of lengths 9,17,15? Show why or why not.

Answer:

A triangle has 3 sides: a, b, c satisfying inequalities below:

=> a + b > c > |a - b|

=> b + c > a > |b - c|

=> c + a > b > |c - a|

9, 15, 17 satisfy the inequalities above (you can check it easily).
