[tex]8v^2 +3=35 [/tex]

[tex]8v^2=35-3 [/tex]      [tex]Subtract \ 3 \ from \ both \ sides[/tex]

[tex] 8v^2=32 [/tex]

[tex]v^2= \dfrac{32}{8} [/tex]   [tex]Divide \ both \ sides \ by \ 8[/tex]

[tex]v^2=4[/tex]

[tex] v=+ \sqrt{4} [/tex]            [tex]Take \ the \ square \ root \ of \ both \ sides[/tex]

[tex] v=+2 [/tex]                       [tex]\ Since \ 2*2=4, \ the \ square \ root \ of \ 4 \ is \ 2[/tex]
