Area of shaded region equals 10.515.

First find the area of the square.
To do that you do Base times Height. Or 7*7.

Which will result in the area of the square to be 49.

Next find the area of the circle.
To do that, you first have to find the radius. The diameter is 6, so you have to do 7/2.

Which will result in 3.5 to be the radius.

Next plug it into the formula, A= πr^2

A= π3.5^2
A= π12.25
A= 38.48451000647497

Finally subtract the two areas to get the shaded region.

49-38.48451000647497=10.515
