Given:

In the given triangle,

With respect to y, Perpendicular = 10 cm and Base = 8 cm

To find the value of y.

Formula

By Trigonometric Ratio we get,

[tex]tan\theta = \frac{Perpendicular}{Base}[/tex]

Now,

Putting the values of perpendicular and base we get,

[tex]tan\theta = \frac{10}{8}[/tex]

or, [tex]\theta = tan^{-1} (\frac{10}{8})[/tex]

or, [tex]\theta = 51.34 ^\circ[/tex]

Rounding off to the nearest tenth, we have;

[tex]\theta = 51.3 ^\circ[/tex]

Hence,

The value of y is 51.3°.
