Reptile belong to phyllum vertebrata and the kidney place major role in excretion. They excrete nitogenous waste product from oxidation of protein. Nitrogenous waste product include ammonia,urea and uric acid. Reptiles in fresh water excrete up to 70% of their waste as ammonia making use of the large water bodies as a means of disposal.

For land reptiles such as lizard and snakes they convert ammonia into uric acid and then excrete it through their cloaca.
