  • You can see 4x and 3x are similar. So you want to basically combine them.
  • You subtract 3x from both sides to get 4x - 3x = 1x
  • 4x - 3x = 1x or just x
  • You now have x + 6 = -4
  • Subtract 6 from both sides to get x = -10
