If WZ is bisected, then VZ = VW. So, set the two equations equal to each other: 4a+3 = 15-2a.
1) Add 2a to both sides: 6a+3 = 15
2) Subtract 3 from both sides: 6a = 12
3) Divide both sides by 6 to find a: a = 2.
