Use the slope formula y2-y1/x2-x1

3-(-7)/1-(-1) = 10/2 = 5

To find the y-intercept:

y=5x+b

3=5(1)+b

3 = 5+b

-5  -5

-2=b

The equation of the line that passes through (-1,-7) and (1,3) is

y=5x-2
