What are two reasons why Loyalists wanted to stay loyal to Britain?

1. Some people don't like change. If they grew up in awe of Britain and it's leaders it would be hard for them to turn their backs on that and fight for something different.

2. They thought it would bring less violence their way. A lot of people who didn't support Britain or who were activity working against their rule were being shot and killed in the streets.
