Kevin runs:

8 miles -- 84 minutes;

6 miles -- x minutes.

Write a proportion:

[tex]\dfrac{8}{6}=\dfrac{84}{x}.[/tex]

Then [tex]8\cdox =6\cdot 84,\\ \\x=\dfrac{6\cdot 84}{8}=3\cdot 21=63\ minutes.[/tex]

Answer: it takes him 63 minutes to run 6 miles
