If we factor -1/4 out of that expression it looks like this: -1/4(2x + 5)

In order to do this, we need to divide each term by that -1/4. Then use them in a parenthesis together.

(-1/2x)/(-1/4) = 2x

(-5/4)(-1/4) = 5

So we use them together at (2x + 5)
