Newton's first law of motion says that a object in motion or rest, will remain in motion or rest in the same speed and same direction until an unbalanced force will act on it.
So according to Newton's first law of motion or law or inertia if you hit a baseball with a bat it will remain in the same speed and direction until an unbalanced force will act on it.
